Terms and Conditions

FIR-DARRIG Holiday Cottages Ireland (subsequently called FD) is an Agency with longstanding experience in letting holiday houses in Southwest Ireland acting on behalf of the relevant landlords. FD advertises the holiday houses on its own website as well as on websites of leading marketing companies. FD ensures the correct description of the advertised houses and the orderly booking and payment process. The client and his fellow travelers accept these Terms & Conditions by booking through these channels.

1. Booking Procedure
a) By submitting a booking the client offers a binding booking and commits himself till FD either accepts or rejects this booking.
b) In case of acceptance the client receives a booking confirmation and the detailed directions from the place of arrival in Ireland to the booked holiday house. At first by email and subsequently also by mail.
Please bring these documents with you to Ireland.

2. Payments
a) A deposit payment of 25% of the total rental price falls due immediately after the reception of the booking confirmation but no later than 10 days after. The final payment falls due at the latest 60 days prior to the start of the rental period.
b) If the client fails to settle these payments within the given time limits and after having received a reminder, FD has the right to cancel the booking. Fees may occur as mentioned in section 3.
c) Preferred method of payments is by Bank Transfer or PayPal. Bank cheques cannot be accepted.
d) Credit Card payments are only possible when booking through the websites of our marketing partners to their conditions. Your payment will be forwarded to FD. FD has no influence if any service fees apply when booking through these channels.
e) Payments will be confirmed to the client by FD upon receipt and promptly transferred to the respective landlord.
f) The rental price, the bank details, the due dates of payments as well as the contact details of the landlord are stated in the booking confirmation.

3. Contract Amendments & Cancellation
a) The booking can be withdrawn at any time prior to departure in writing. The cancellation becomes valid after being reconfirmed by FD.
b) Cancellation by the traveller before start of travel/cancellation fees
Standard compensation fees:
until 61 days before departure 20%
from 60days to 31 days before departure 60%
from 30 days before departure to 15days before departure 80%
from 14 days before departure to the start of travel or no show 100%
c) FD will issue a letter of cancellation to the client for submission to his travel insurance on request.
d) Any contract change is subject to an administrative charge of 50 EUR to be borne by the client.

4. Additional expenses
a) Bedlinen and towels are supplied free of charge once at the start of rental. The client washes these during his stay if necessary. At the end of his stay it will be done by the landlord or his caretaker.
b) Energy prices are listed in the rental price table and in the booking confirmation. The usage-bound costs are paid by the client in cash to the landlord or his caretaker at the end of the stay.
c) Final cleaning fee and internet cost (where applicable) apply as per the rental prices table.

5. Arrival & Departure
a) Start of rental is between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. Late arrivals shall be agreed with FD when booking. Please ring your contact person on the way to the house in order to agree your approx. arrival time.
b) End of rental is 10 a.m. Special arrangements may be possible but shall be agreed upon with the landlord or his caretaker in good time.
c) The client shall leave the house clean swept, crockery clean in the cupboards, kitchen, toilets, bathrooms reasonably cleaned, beds stripped, domestic waste in bags. The landlord reserves the right to subsequently charge for excessive cleaning expenditure.

6. House Terms
a) During the rental period the contractual relationship exists between the client and the landlord.
b) Staying at a privately-owned holiday house and grounds is at the clientA?s own risk including his fellow travelers and visitors.
c) The landlord is responsible for the proper condition of the house, the furnishings, the multi-
media equipment, the electric appliances and the heating and sanitary system. He is liable to fix any malfunction in a reasonable time if advised.
d) The client shall report any malfunction or defects immediately to the landlord or his caretaker to avoid further damages and to allow for the repairs.
e) The client may also inform FD if any assistance is required to mediate with the landlord in settling a justified malfunction or defect. FD is obliged to help.
f) Any such claims made after the rental period cannot be accepted because neither the responsible landlord nor FD was given the chance to rectify the issue during his stay.
g) A No-Smoking policy applies to all houses.
h) Pets are only allowed in the houses specifically marked and shall be mentioned when booking.
i) The house shall only be occupied with the number of people booked.
j) Weather related influences may occasionally cause temporary disturbances to the power or water supply, to the internet, to the telephone, radio and TV reception in rural Ireland. Any such restrictions are beyond the control of FD nor of the landlord. However, the client should inform the landlord or caretaker in such cases.

7. Data Privacy Statement
a) FD assures that the client’s personal data will not be disclosed to any third parties except to the landlord or his caretaker.
