Description

Location

The house is located in the romantic hamlet of Kells at Dingle Bay just about four kilometers off the well-known Ring of Kerry – a section of the “Wild Atlantic Way”. The area of Kells is part of the internationally recognised “Kerry Dark Sky Reserve” without any light polution but millions of stars in clear nights. The near vicinty of the house is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing, swimming, exploring several cultural sites or touring the Ring of Kerry or Killarney National Park. The local  grocery shop with an Irish craft shop and a panorama restaurant is  less than three kilometers away. The nearest town is Cahersiveen. A lively market town with many traditional pubs, good restaurants, shops, doctors and a Yacht Marina with activity center.

Things to explore from the house:

• Sheep dog trial in Kells. Beside Caiteen Baiters Pub. (summer only)
• Rossbeigh Beach near Glenbeigh. Walk the dunes, swim or surf at the beach.
  Have a pint or some good food at the Rosspoint Restaurant & Bar.
• Ballaghisheen Pass. From Cahersiveen through Kerry Mountains to Glencar.
  Back via Caragh Lake.
• Wild Atlantic Way. From Cahersiveen via Waterville, Caherdaniel, Sneem to Kenmare.
  Back over Molls Gap to Killarney.
• Cahergall Stone Fort, Cuash Crom Harbor, Ballycarberry Castle.
  In Cahersiveen over the bridge at the White Elephant.
• Valentia Harbour Boat tours.
  Enjoy a boat trip in Valentia Harbour and around Beginish Island with kerryaquaterra.ie
• Valentia Island. From Renard Point by car ferry to Valentia Island.
  Visit the Slate Mine, Cromwell Point Lighthouse, Fogher Cliffs.
• Portmagee. Over the Valentia bridge to the fishing village of Portmagee.
  Boat trip to the Skelligs. (book in advance)
• Skellig Ring. In Portmagee follow the Ring to St. Finian’s Bay.
  Walk to the viewing platform of the Kerry Cliffs, visit the Chocolate Factory.
• Ballinskelligs. Follow the Skellig Ring to Ballinskelligs.
• Gap of Dunloe. Follow the “Ring of Kerry” for Killarney. Turn right before Killarney to the gap. 
• Killarney National Park, Lakes, Ross Castle, Muckross Abbey, Torc Waterfall, Molls Gap, Kenmare.
• Dingle Peninsula. From Dingle town over the Connor Pass.
  Back via the Slea Head Drive to Dingle Town.

In Off-Season not everything might be open or else in peak-season pretty busy. Enquire before you start.
