Location

Patty´s house is about two kilometers from Portmagee away. Portmagee is a small village with a working fishing harbour where you can see the boats landing the freshest fish and lobsters daily. The village has a traditional pub with Irish music session and an awarded restaurant as well as a small convenience shop for the daily needs. The beautiful Valentia Island is just a stone´s throw away. The island offers many activities for walking or cycling on quiet rural lanes, visiting Cromwell´s Point lighthouse, the viewing platform of the Fogher Cliffs, the slate mine with the grotto or the small village of Knights Town with the Lifeboat Station and the marine activity center. A boat trip in good weather from the pier in Portmagee to the famous Skellig Rocks with the over thousand years old monastry sitting on top of Skellig Michael is well worth seeing.
